Our recent projects are located right across the UK.

Gwynedd Council commissioned Avian Ecology to undertake a baseline assessment of bat activity in the area surrounding a proposed county road improvement scheme in 2014, for which we found their overall level of service including the timeliness, quality and presentation of the reporting to be excellent. Avian offered a pragmatic approach to their work from the outset and always communicated effectively with all other parties, these attributes were appreciated on project where landowner relations were at times tested. Avian also clearly considered the health and safety of their surveyors during the design and implementation of the survey programme which provided piece of mind for GC as employer.
Rhydian Roberts, Senior Environment Officer, Gwynedd Council
Avian have provided excellent ecology survey and EIA services to REG Windpower for over 5 years and always deliver the goods on time, in budget and with the minimum of fuss. They handle Planning Authority negotiations directly and sensitively and have achieved great results on difficult sites. Most recently, Avian produced a 25 year Section 106 Habitat Management Plan for a project at appeal – that project has now been consented thanks to Avian’s work with the landowner, Planning Authority and the various solicitors agreeing the Section 106. Avian will continue to be REG Windpower’s ‘go to’ practice for ecology advice.
Owen Saward MRTPI CEnv AIEMA, Development Manager, REG Windpower
I have worked with Una Maginn for over 12 years now on strategic transportation projects and would strongly commend her leadership and guidance on all environmental matters. I would be pleased to have Avian as a specialist supply chain partner on future opportunities.
Ian McKay, Partner, Fairhurst
Taylor Wimpey appointed Avian to advise on Ecological Mitigations measure for the first phase of our Coppenhall development in Cheshire, particularly in relation to Great Crest Newts and Avian successfully secured a Natural England European Protected Species (EPS) licence for the development. Taylor Wimpey were pleased with the advice and work undertaken by Avian to enable the development to proceed and would have no hesitation to use them again in the future
Ian Harrison, Design and Planning Manager at Taylor Wimpey
Savills have worked regularly with Avian Ecology since 2011 on projects including wind energy, solar development, defence, housing and infrastructure. Avian consistently provides sound advice based on developer objectives and a refreshingly clear approach to planning, often on complex development projects. Avian also work with the wider project team and understand the commercial pressures of cost and time whilst balancing robust and compliant planning applications. The Avian team provides clarity in the often ambiguous world of planning, and will remain Savills preferred ecological consultants
Richard Frost, Director of Planning, Savills
