Ecological support can be critical to achieve legislative compliance and for maintaining programmes and budgets once a project enters the construction phase. From discharging Planning Conditions, preparing Management Plans and detailed licence applications for protected species, to providing site supervision and ad-hoc advice, we provide a whole-life service to our clients in the form of positive and practical advice with technical expertise.

Our pragmatic approach is matched to your project and site, drawing on a wealth of experience gained from our hands-on involvement with energy, infrastructure and commercial construction schemes across the UK. We have provided Ecological Clerks of Work, Environmental Managers and Project Ecologists for housing and industrial developments, road schemes, grid connections, solar parks and wind farms, amongst others.

We work with our clients to achieve project aims, including implementing Construction Environmental Management Plans, Environmental Management Systems and protected species licence requirements.

We understand that work plans often change, and have the experience to provide solutions and maintain valuable relationships with statutory regulators, local authorities and local groups.[/fusion_text]

We provide Suitably Qualified Ecologists (SQEs) and we regularly advise clients on how to deliver sustainable enhancements within a development to achieve additional Credits. We are also able to prepare Management Plans and provide on-site supervision and/or monitoring as part of project implementation.
We can provide full or part time site Ecological Clerk of Works presence, advising on and monitoring construction activities, supervising licenced or conditioned works, completing pre-construction checks and providing completion reports. Our experienced site staff are CSCS registered and excellent communicators. Typically we provide support during site clearance and topsoil stripping, destructive searches and working in or near sensitive ecological locations.
As well delivering a full range of standard ecological and biodiversity mitigation measures, we provide bespoke and innovative mitigation and enhancement solutions. These are often designed to complement other objectives, such as landscape and drainage designs, as part of an integrated and cost-effective approach.
Avian Ecology can assist you in swiftly discharging planning conditions for a consented project, whether this requires further clarification through reporting, detailed surveys and monitoring, or mitigation and habitat design. Our aim is to ensure the conditions are discharged efficiently when required to achieve programme and ecological objectives, without leaving you with unachievable obligations.
Our work includes designing for maximum biodiversity gains whilst maintain budgets and programmes. We prepare Management Plans which deliver real biodiversity benefits over the long term, and have particular experience in delivering habitat enhancements for solar parks, wind farms, road schemes and large scale housing developments.
We understand how vital it is to present information clearly and accurately. Our specialist GIS personnel use industry leading software and standardised techniques to interrogate data and represent ecology survey results on plans. Our field surveyors use precision equipment to locate and map ecological features so that it can be accurately represented. Data presentation includes detailed habitats mapping and specialised applications, such as ornithology flight-line mapping or bat surveys. All our reports include professional, easy to understand graphics and data for clients and regulators.
