Project Description

Large Scale Housing Development | Cheshire

We prepared a robust ecological appraisal for a proposed residential development of 200 dwellings for a major house developer. The application was supported by an Extended Phase 1 habitat survey and protected species surveys for bats and great crested newts. To ensure no bat roosts could potentially be affected, we carried out targeted tree climbing inspection surveys, a valuable specialist technique that can be used throughout the year. Working closely with the client’s masterplanning and landscape teams, our ecologists helped to integrate ecological mitigation into the overall design for the development and provided additional liaison support at public exhibition and during the planning application consultations.
